Writers Rachel Kapelke-Dale and Leigh Lewis to make appearances


Rachel Kapelke-Dale: The author of the new novel “The Ballerinas” will appear in a virtual event co-moderated by BalletMet Artistic Director Edwaard Liang and BalletMet Executive Director Sue Porter at 7 p.m. on January 11. Kapelke-Dale is the author of the Vanity Fair Hollywood column, “Tips from the Stars.” She spent years in ballet training before her university studies and now lives in Paris. Her novel is about a trio of dancers who met while they were students at the Paris Opera Ballet School. Leigh Lewis: The children’s author will speak about her new book, “Pirate Queens: Dauntless Women Who Dared to Rule the High Seas,” at an in-person event at 11 am on January 15 at the Upper Arlington Public Library, 2800 Tremont Road. Lewis’s non-fiction book, due out January 11, is aimed at intermediate-level readers. The event’s co-sponsor, Cover to Cover Books for Young Readers, will be selling copies of the book at the event.
