Revenues for top IC design companies; RISC-V for motor control; POL buck regulators for servers; Alphawave IP, Allegro Microsystems finalize acquisitions.

According to a Trendforce report, revenue for the world’s top 10 IC design companies reached $39.6 billion in 2Q22, up 32% year-on-year. The company argues that this growth trend will be difficult to sustain due to the strong previous baseline and generally worse market conditions.

Renesas introduces a RISC-V microcontroller specifically optimized for advanced motor control systems.
