Eighty-nine UCF faculty have received promotions and 48 more have been tenured for the 2021-22 cycle following a rigorous evaluation process.
Consideration for promotion and tenure takes almost an entire academic year, as faculty are evaluated in three main areas: research, teaching, and service. The many types of faculty at UCF include librarians, instructional designers, and clinical researchers.
“Faculty members approved for tenure and promotion this year meet a high and challenging bar. They demonstrate high productivity and excellence in teaching, research, and service,” said Michael D. Johnson, UCF provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. “I am confident that these faculty members will make a significant contribution to the future success of UCF.”
Of the 48 faculty members who were granted tenure, 46 were also promoted to associate professor. The incumbents received approval from the UCF Board of Directors on May 26. The new incumbent designations and promotions take effect August 8.
