The Port Stephens Literature Awards are now open for entries

THE Port Stephens Literature Awards are now open for entries, with the closing date being 31 October 2022.

This year, the Tilligery Lions Club will host the contest with prizes totaling $1,100.

Prizes are for short stories of no more than 2000 words on any subject and must be original, typewritten, double-spaced works.

A separate cover sheet with author contact information should accompany each entry.

A $10 entry fee is required plus $5 for each additional submission.

Coordinator Kevin Colman said the Lions Club is proud to continue the awards that date back approximately 20 years.

“They encouraged creative writing, with some of them writing their own books and winning literary awards,” he said.

The awards are sponsored by the Lemon Tree Club, Port Stephens Council and News Of The Area.
