CLARKSVILLE, TN – (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Nearly 120 guests attended the annual Soldiers and Families Embraced fundraising breakfast on Thursday at the Madison Room. It was the organization’s first in-person fundraiser since 2019 due to the pandemic.

“This year, our theme was ‘Embracing Our Mission’, where we wanted to focus on SAFE’s mission, and despite the challenges, we continue to move forward and continue to serve our community, our first responders, our military, our alumni. combatants and their families,” said Christina Watson, Executive Director of SAFE.

Watson said enough funds had been raised to provide more than 240 hours of counseling for those seeking help.

The guest speaker for the breakfast was Congressman Mark Green. Green recognized the Reverend Jodi McCullah, one of the founders of SAFE, who also spoke at the breakfast. “Jodi, this organization is amazing, and I’m blown away by the lives that have been saved, not changed, but lives that have been saved. Your work here is God’s work,” Green said.

The breakfast also honored the Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Clarksville Fire Department, Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department, and Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services.

Soldiers and Families Embraced offers individual, couple and youth counseling for active duty military, veterans and their families. SAFE also provides individual advice to active first responders.
