Fluidity Design Consultants is a leading Los Angeles-based design and engineering company with international practice. The company collaborates with many of the world’s most respected architects, landscape architects and developers in the realization of creative and technically refined water features on an architectural scale for all kinds of projects.
Fluidity is currently seeking an experienced Project Designer with a background in Architecture or Landscape Architecture, with an emphasis on design development, coordination, specialist assemblies and fine detailing. The position requires a motivated and professional personality, developed design skills, team-oriented interpersonal skills and a commitment to producing top quality work. Knowledge of Revit is required. The designer will receive guidance from studio directors while collaborating as a team member with other Fluidity designers and external design professionals.
Required Skills :
Proficient in AutoCAD
Proficient in Revit
Good knowledge of Rhino and Sketchup
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software
General knowledge of Apple and / or Windows operating systems
Understanding of architectural drawing and production processes
Strong visual, verbal and written communication skills
Previous experience in an architectural or landscaping firm
A bachelor’s degree in architecture or landscape architecture is a plus but is not compulsory.
Daily tasks can include, but are not limited to, the following:
Create project design drawings in AutoCAD or Revit during SD, DD, CD phases
Assist studio directors with versions of drawing packages
Participate in design workshops and brainstorming sessions
Create a 3D model and illustrations
Attend conference calls or web conferences with clients (sometimes after or before regular business hours)
Design analysis and conceptualization
Materials research and specification
Coordinate with engineers and other consultants
Quality control procedures
Required experience level: 5 to 10 years
Required training: Diploma in architecture or landscape architecture. Graduate degree an asset, but not required.
