New York Comic Con: Diana Gabaldon, author of Outlander, announced

Yes, Sassenach. Fans of the romantic drama series Foreign can now look forward to seeing author Diana Gabaldon at New York Comic Con in October! Gabaldon is the latest in a growing list of guest announcements for the upcoming convention.

Foreign follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse in the year 1945, as she finds herself mysteriously transported back in time to 1743 Scotland. Claire is forced to marry a chivalrous young Scottish warrior named Jamie Fraser, and she soon finds her heart torn between two men across time.

The first book in the ongoing series was published in 1991, and the ninth entry – Go tell the bees I’m gone – came out last November. The books were adapted into a TV show that premiered on STARZ in 2014 with Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan in the lead roles. The sixth season recently aired this month and the show was renewed for a seventh season last year.
