SWANZEY, NH, Oct. 04, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Moore Nanotechnology Systems (“Nanotech”), a leading global supplier of ultra-precision machining systems, announces the official opening of its global center of training and process development in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mark Boomgarden, President and CEO of Nanotech, said, “Nanotech is very pleased to announce the official opening of our Global Training and Process Development Center in Charlotte, NC. While the initial focus of this facility is to provide customer specific training and state-of-the-art process development, it also provides incremental Nanotech production capacity to meet the demands of a rapidly growing market.

Nanotech purchased and recently completed fitting out a 50,000 sq.2 building located in the Northpark Corporate Park – Charlotte, NC.

Nanotech’s core technology and employee base is in Swanzey, New Hampshire, and this foundation is fundamental to the products and services they provide. But as the organization continues to grow, Nanotech needed to find an ecosystem to foster and accelerate that growth, and the Charlotte area provides Nanotech with access to a world-class university, international airport, and city. with the infrastructure to support global growth. footprint.

Robert Keynton, Dean of Engineering at UNC Charlotte, added, “One of the benefits of Nanotech expanding their facilities here in Charlotte is that it strengthens our collaborations and relationships, including hiring of our students. Keynton continued, “But it also gives them access to cutting-edge research conducted by our faculty and integrating that knowledge into their systems.”

Nanotechnology continues to experience significant growth as optical system requirements become increasingly complex and evolve from real to virtual applications. The development of the knowledge and processes required to support the manufacture of these systems has also increased significantly.

Scott Gerhart, Nanotech’s Vice President of Sales and Services, commented, “Training and application support are fundamental to our product and service offerings, and in today’s markets they are expected by our clients. Gerhart continued, “For this reason, our business is dependent on hiring the best talent available in the world of ultra-precision machining. Students graduating from UNC Charlotte’s Precision Manufacturing and Metrology programs are extremely well prepared for the type of roles we need to succeed at Nanotech.

Paul Vermette, Vice President of Engineering, said, “As our customers continue to advance their in-house capabilities to meet the industry’s demanding product requirements, Nanotech continues to stay one to two generations ahead of the curve.” Vermette continued, “Our 5-year product and technology roadmap is built on customer feedback, which, combined with our internal investments, provides Nanotech with the strategic direction needed to achieve these goals.

This new Nanotech facility is located at 6510 Northpark Blvd in Charlotte – fifteen minutes from Uptown and Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The facility was renovated in 2022, to include the construction of class 10k clean rooms, sitting on 24 inch concrete insulation pads and temperature control to +/- 0.1°C. Additionally, the facility has been upgraded to include a large temperature-controlled bay. a state-of-the-art manufacturing space and training complex to support customer engagement.

Moore Nanotechnology Systems (Nanotech) was founded in Keene, New Hampshire in 1997 as a stand-alone subsidiary of Moore Tool Company. In 2010 the company moved to a modern, purpose-built facility in Swanzey, New Hampshire and in 2020 opened a facility in Concord, North Carolina. For more than 25 years, Nanotech has been a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of state-of-the-art ultra-precise machine tools and associated processes (single-point diamond turning, micro-milling, micro-grinding and molding glass press) for the production of advanced optical components in the consumer electronics, space, defense, aerospace, lighting, medical and automotive industries. Moore Tool, founded in 1924 and located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, has a long history in the precision and ultra-precision machine tool markets. Today, Moore Tool offers a full line of high performance CNC jig grinders, as well as ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified precision contract manufacturing services. Moore Nanotechnology Systems and Moore Tool are vertically integrated into the PMT group.
