Jeff Jarrett shocked everyone with his appearance on the November 2 episode of AEW Dynamite. The former WWE star appeared after Darby Allin’s match with Jay Lethal. Jarrett recently revealed that his AEW signing “wasn’t something that happened overnight.”

Jeff Jarrett recently appeared on the latest episode of My world podcast. He talked about his early days in AEW Dynamite and his behind-the-scenes work with the brand. Jarrett also discussed his wife Karen’s response and her excitement to join AEW.

The pieces of the puzzle started falling together and the role behind the scenes, as well as on camera, all of those pieces started falling and it didn’t happen overnight. It’s kind of been a work in progress for quite some time. It’s not something that happened overnight.

I don’t know if I’m more excited about the backstage work or the executive work or all that stuff, or the in-ring stuff because Karen texted me Wednesday, around 1:00 or 1:30 p.m., and said, ‘Wha what are you doing?’ I said, “I feel like a 19-year-old rookie pacing the WMC TV studios.” I said, ‘I’m nervous about tonight.’ I’m thinking. I wanted it to go well. I wasn’t sure at all. So that’s sort of one of the messages I want to put out there. Guys, I’ve been doing this for a long time, but I was as nervous as can be, and when the lights came back on in the ring, it was a surreal moment. The reaction had a little fresh coat of paint, a little red guitar, a little red and black guitar. It was very cool. I have a good idea of old Darby. I’m super grateful. I’m excited. I’m willing to dig, in all sorts of ways.

Jeff Jarrett worked as both on-screen and off-screen talent during his last stint with WWE. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion was directly responsible to Vince McMahonbut lost his position after Triple H came to power.

Jarrett destroyed Darby with a guitar bullet to the head in his AEW debut. You can listen to the most recent podcast, which covers TNA Genesis 2007, at keep reading Ring News for more.
