“Design Mom” Gabrielle Blair says male partners need to step up and be held accountable for their vital role.

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Male priesthood holders endorse Russell M. Nelson as President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2018. A Latter-day Saint writer says he is time for men to take action and accept responsibility on the issue of abortion.

While discussions, debates and disputes surrounding the recent Supreme Court overturning of Roe v. Wade are raging, there seem to be few new perspectives on the thorny issue.

Should pregnant women have the right to make decisions about their bodies, or should the state have a vested interest in protecting the unborn child, regardless of the wishes of the pregnant person?

Gabrielle Blair, an influential Latter-day Saint known as “Design Mom,” says it’s time to shift the focus from women to men. After all, she claims in her forthcoming book, “Ejaculate Responsibly: A Whole New Way to Think About Abortion,” based on a Viral Twitter feed of 2018100% of unwanted pregnancies are ultimately caused by men.

Blair, a New York Times bestselling author and mother of six, believes the issue needs to move away from controlling and legislating women’s bodies and instead towards men’s lack of responsibility.

In this week’s podcast, Blair talks about the book and explains why she wants to reframe the discussion of sex, birth control, pregnancy, abortion and more.
