Rolls-Royce has appointed Tufan Erginbilgic as CEO and Executive Director of Rolls-Royce Holdings plc, succeeding Warren East, effective January 1, 2023.

Tufan (above), who has an engineering background, built his career in international business, including more than 20 years with BP, including five years with its management team. In his final role before leaving in 2020, he led BP’s downstream businesses, which included refining, petrochemicals, the service station network, lubricants, midstream operations and the Air BP jet fuel operation. During Tufan’s tenure, the business transformed, achieving record profitability and delivering record safety performance.

He has held several non-executive directorships in heavy industry and manufacturing companies, including the aerospace technology group GKN. He is currently a partner at Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a private equity firm that focuses on large-scale investments in infrastructure companies and manages $81 billion for investors.

Tufan Erginbilgic is currently a non-executive director of multinational transport vehicle manufacturer Iveco Group NV; energy, health and technology group DCC plc; and the energy company Türkiye Petrol Raminerileri A.Ş (Tupras). Tufan will review his involvement in these positions.
